The Hideaway sits nestled into the sand dunes, with a private path from the back deck that takes you right to the beach. It's just 100 walking steps, so you can just kick off your shoes and venture out at your whim.
In the heart of Neskowin is Proposal Rock, a stunning view especially at sunset. For the daring, you can even climb to the top of the Rock for a stunning, secret view.
Just a short 20 minute drive north is Pacific City, where you can hike up the dune in Cape Kiwanda for some breathtaking views of the Pacific, or pop by the Pelican Brewery for a drink.
At low tide, right outside Neskowin village, you can explore the Ghost Forest - 2000 year old petrified trunks jutting out of the sand, covered in mussels, star fish, and with the occasional Sea Lion.
The first time we set foot in Neskowin, we fell in love. It was a summer day and the farmer's market was in full swing. The Cafe at Hawk Creek is a great spot to grab good food and drinks (try the pizza), the Newkowin Trading Company market has a great selection of upscale foods (and a great wine selection), and the golf course couldn't be more charming. Of course, a Neskowin weekend isn't complete without a walk down the beach to Proposal Rock.
